We are totally delighted to share Jennie and Ez’s wedding with you on our blog, we absolutely loved creating this dress for Jennie, Jennie came to us with the idea of Red and also loved the oriental and Japanese styling (as do I) , so we designed a short fifties number in red, with a cute little crane embroidery on the skirt and finished off with a turquoise obi style belt!! Thanks Jennie for this lovely write up
“When Ez and I got engaged we knew our wedding should reflect us and the things we love. My dress search had, until the point I discovered The Couture Company, been disheartening and unexciting. But that all changed when I met Jo at EWE one snowy Sunday and I was soon on her doorstep for my first appointment. Being quite creative, I had pretty solid ideas about what I wanted, and even brought a piece of turquoise silk I’d bought in Hong Kong years earlier. With Jo’s experience and magic touch all the hundreds of ideas bustling for attention were deftly brought under control & made viable, and my beautiful red Japanese kimono crossed with 1950s swing dress hybrid was born!
I loved each visit to the studio for fittings, and was amazed how quickly each stage developed. The service I received was totally professional, always friendly and the dress was top quality – it fitted me like a glove! Soon I was being expertly synched into the waspie corset / obi belt by Jo and it was all done. I was actually a bit sad the process was over but super excited to take it home and show my mum and friends.
On my wedding day I felt amazing in the dress and received a million compliments. Not many of the guests knew what I was wearing so some were a bit confused, but hey – who wants to be predictable! I loved how easy it was to wear comfortably all day – and dance all night in! It was just perfect. So a huge thankyou to Jo & her team for contributing to making our wedding day the best day ever! I have and will be wearing it again – just need the hub to take me somewhere nice now!” Jennie xx
